Willow went to heaven on Saturday. She was a sweet and feisty lop bunny who brought me joy for a little over eight years. While looking at photos and sharing memories with my family, I realized that Willow taught me a few fundamental life lessons.
Start each day with Jesus and coffee. Willow and I sat together every morning while I had my coffee and prayed. It was the best way to start my day!
Cuddles matter - everybody needs a hug, and Willow knew that well. She would cuddle up next to me and sit quietly. Because sometimes you need to slow down and take time to cuddle your loved ones!
Eat your veggies: Willow loved her salads and veggies! She was a healthy bun, and she reminded me that kale tastes better than you think.
Take time to rest - sometimes Willow would sprawl out on the floor with her whole body extended in a Superman position. It’s good to stretch out and rest once in a while. Willow was an expert, and she showed me the value of a spontaneous nap!
Jump for joy aka…binky! When bunnies are happy, they get a short burst of energy, and they spring up into the air (binky). Willow was great at binkies when she was young. And although she didn’t binky too much toward the end, I know that she can now.
Life has highs and lows. Take time to appreciate the little things. Celebrate what is good and keep looking up. I’ve had lots of tears the past couple of days, but today I’m smiling because I’m thinking of Willow and her binkies in heaven!
